History
Named after the child film star of the 1930s; the story goes that a bartender created it so she could have a festive drink alongside the adults. Several venues claim it, including Chasen's in Beverly Hills, the Brown Derby in Hollywood and the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Honolulu, and Temple herself later said she found it far too sweet.

- 1935
Bartender's notes
- A squeeze of lime cuts the sweetness for grown-up palates.
- Real pomegranate grenadine tastes far better than the bright-red artificial kind.
